March 1?!?

Hello lovely reader! So basically I have come to the conclusion that the months are going to go by faster and faster because this is ridiculous. What happened to February? One minute it's Valentine's Day and then it's February 28 and March is upon us!

I'm quite excited for it though. I'm ready for the weather to get warmer and I'm also taking a trip somewhere that is guaranteed to be warmer than what I am currently experiencing. (Winter, if you're reading this, your time is up and you can leave) I'm so ready for spring! It's one of my favorite times of the year. The new fashion, the pastel shades, the flowers, it's just an all around pretty time. You know it's coming too, with fashion week and people beginning to post their spring look books. So I hope March goes well for all of us. February, you've been lovely but I'm ready for things to heat up. (See what I did there) Have a nice day! Xx

Recent Discovery: Gabrielle Aplin

Hello lovely reader, I hope you are doing well. As you may know from previous posts, if I find something that I really like, I share it with you all. So, let the sharing begin. I'm not sure where the heck I have been for the last few months because I have been missing out, two words, Gabrielle Aplin. Her music if amazing. I have been listening to her album English Rain and I am obsessed with it. Her music is so light and airy but her songs are packed with feeling. Not to mention the fact that her lyrics videos are pretty cute (I have left the one for home below). My personal favorites (besides the entire album) are panic cord, home, and november. So if you already are fan, I'm with you, if you're not, please go check out her album! Have a nice day! Xx

Quick Day Out Haul

Hi there lovely reader! Last weekend I had a day out and did a little shopping, so I'll share in a quick post.

I love me some elf products. The colors are really pigmented and it has a nice little range of shades. It also comes with a double ended sponge and an eyeliner.

Classic black skater skirt from H&M. I know it's quite simple but I think it's really nice to have. It can be worn in the summer and the winter and dressed up or down.

I'm always on the lookout for quirky or vintage style books, this one being no exception. It's filled with places in London, sorted by location. The pictures are really nice and overall I just thought it was a really cool little book.

As you can probably tell by looking at any of my "Cheeky Quote Tuesday" posts, I love quotes. I was actually given this book for Valentine's Day. I know there is another one called "Everything is Going to be Ok". The book is simple, each page filled with a quote or two. I think it's just nice thing to keep out and if you are ever having an off day, have a look through the pages.
That is all. Do you have any of these things? Have a nice rest of the week! Xx

Birthday Beauty Bliss

Hello lovely reader! Sorry for the lack of posts this past week, it was a busy one. (I know I know excuses excuses, so sue me, it's true) Anyway, I have multiple posts planned for this coming week so look out for those!
This past month I celebrated my birthday. I have found that as the years go by, birthdays become simpler. Don't get me wrong, I love a good birthday party, but I don't find myself asking for tons of things like we all did when we were little. I'm still living, healthyand well, and I don't need much else. I got some nice gifts but I thought I would share the beauty related ones with you in a post! I'm always quite interested to see what gifts other people get, so maybe you are the same way.

I have a few international friends and if you ever get the chance to interact with someone of a different background, do it! You can learn so much. Another little bonus is that you get cool international gifts:) This is essentially a mask for your lips with adorable packaging.

I love to paint my nails and am somewhat known by my friends and family for doing so. These colors are all very iridescent and pretty.

Yes, gotta support the beauty gurus of the internet! Real Technqiues is by a women named Samantha Chapman. She has a beauty blog as well as a very successful Youtube channel. These brushes are amazing quality and affordable, not to mention their as soft as a teddy bear.

MAC, enough said. Just kidding. I don't have that much super high end makeup, I usually try to stick to drugstore brands but I am slowly expanding my collection. The shade is Lovelorn. This color is really sweet, it's light enough that you can wear it on an everyday basis but you can also layer it to make it more vibrant.

Now onto a freebie gift! If you are a rewards member of Sephora, you will know that during your birthday month you can go into the store and pick up a birthday gift. This year it is by Makeup For Ever, and consists of a "Smokey Extravagant" mascara and an "Rouge artist" lipstick. The sizes are mini of course but I think it's a great way for brands to expose their products to buyers.

Finally, this is somewhat beauty, more accessories, but I thought they were too cute not to share. A nice pair of Kate Spade earrings. I love Kate Spade and the style of their products. Classic but with a twist and always fun. These earrings go with the ring I was given for Christmas.

What types of things do you like to get for your birthday? Have you tried any of these products? Have a nice day! Xx

DIY Photo Booth Valentines

Hi lovely reader! I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend. Hopefully you are aware that next Friday is Valentine's Day! I always like to try and do something creative as far as valentines are concerned and this year is no exception. These valentines are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional!

You will need:
-colored card stock (red, black, white)
-a hot glue gun
-red and black sharpies
-wooden skewers
-scissors

I'm going to show you how to make the pennant one, but you can use these same steps to make any of the others as well.
First fold the paper in half and draw a triangle so that the crease is on the left.
Next cut the triangle out so that you have a triangle shaped card.
Then write whatever you want on the front. I chose "Mon Petit" which means "My Little" because it is a nickname I have for one of my friends and it looks cute:)
Now take one of the skewers and place it in the card, make creases around where you want the skewer to be.
Finally take the hot glue gun and make a line of glue in the crease, place the skewer in the glue and hold it for about a minute, allowing the glue to set.
Now you can write a nice message inside and your valentine will be complete!

I also made some other ones, using the same steps. I found the shapes from templates online, except for the last one which I created myself.
Nice cheeky lip bite for a cheeky friend!

Valentine's Day DIY Decor

Hi there lovely reader! With Valentine's Day coming up, I thought I would share some decor ideas as well as some DIYs that will allow you to be as festive for Heart Day as possible.

I personally like Valentine's Day because of all the decorations, hearts, roses, different shades of pink, it all makes me quite excited. So first are the little things I have that add a touch of heartiness (see what I did there) to the atmosphere. Xx

I got this earring tree from ASOS last year and it has worked out great. It has cute little frill like details around the edge of the heart and the base also has little hearts around it.

Just simple metal heart. I bought this at a home store last summer. I'm not sure what exaclty it's meant to be used for but I just hang it on the door knob for a little pizzazz.

I have a couple of these. They are little candle holders, actually from the wedding section of a craft store. They also have little heart details.

Now for some DIYs I have found. All the pictures are from the original posts and go with the included link.

Tin Can Valentine's Votive

I think these would look really nice on a desk or even in a bathroom with some other smaller candles.

These are absolutely adorable and would be a perfect little gift for someone who loves a good Instagram.

Simple, Classic, Easy

Geometric Hearts
Modern day hearts, perfect for any bare wall. I think they would look nice around pictures also.
