May Favorites | 2016

Hi lovely reader! Happy June!! It is time for summer to get into full swing and I don't know about you but I am ready. May was a pretty busy month, with school finishing up, exams, and then a trip to New York, I am ready for things to slow down a bit. I've got some new favorites to share with you and also some summer staples that I know I have mentioned in the past, everything from fashion to food, and even a guilty pleasure TV show or two!

Favorite Fashion Piece: Stylish Sneakers
These shoes are my absolute obsession for the month of May. If you have an Instagram or a Tumblr, you will have seen these Adidas Originals everywhere! I know for me, everyday I would get on social media I would see at least three posts where someone would have these minimalist loving monochrome obsessor's dream. I had wanted them for a while and when I got them the rush was fantastic because I had all the outfit ideas already planned out in my head. If you ask anyone who knows me, they know that I have a weakness for shoes, especially a cool pair of sneakers. I love being comfortable and still looking fab.

As mentioned above, I love a good flat and for that matter a nice flatform as well. I always get lots of compliments when I where them and even more shock and awe when I say that I found them at Target....yes Target, and Target clearance for that matter. They can dress a look up or down depending on what they are paired with and who doesn't love a good sparkly shoe every now and then. It makes you feel like a kid again with the whimsy of it all!

Favorite Songs:
Dangerous Woman | Ariana Grande

fOoL fOr YoU | Zayn

Favorite Multi-Purpose Cosmetic Item: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
This moisturizer has worked out great for the summer so far. It has SPF 15 in it so if I know I am going to be outside, I make sure to put an even coat on my face and I have yet to get sunburnt while wearing it.

Favorite Guilty Pleasure TV Shows:
There Goes the Motherhood: Even though I am far far away from hopefully being a mother one day myself, I have gotten so into this show! I just find it super interesting to see how the different lifestyles of these ladies and their families. I also like it because it's not as "intense" as some of the other Bravo reality shows.

Rich Kids of Beverly Hills: Ok so this is polar opposite from the show above but I still freaking love it. I mentioned it in my June favorites last year and Season 2 is here with some new faces and the documentation of planning a wedding. Everyone on the show is so distinct and funny and yeah, guilty pleasure.

Favorite Apps:
PhotoWonder: It is a fantastic photo editing app

Snapchat (My two favorite filters are the flower crown and the star crown princess looking one, but the original one, not the one that gives you a beauty mark and makes your face look fuller)

Favorite Throwback: Disney Channel airing some of the 100 Disney Channel Original Movies
All the childhood throwbacks

What have been your favorites this month? Xx

Chelsea, Cupcakes, and Challis | New York Photo Diary

Hello lovely reader! As you may know, within the last few years, I have become really fanatical about traveling. Whether it's going on a one hour road trip to somewhere with a friend or flying across the country to a new city and state, I love going to new places and discovering different areas. I find it so inspiring, visiting somewhere I've never been and having a completely open mind as to what it will be like. After having this somewhat new appreciation for doing so, I one day hope to have a career in which I can travel all over the world. This being said, a few weeks ago I went to New York City for the first time. As someone who is studying to work in the fashion industry, it was an understatement to say that I was thrilled with the opportunity to go. I was there for one week and the trip was "go-go-go" but amazing. We stayed in Chelsea which was a fantastic location and I highly recommend it, especially if you have never been to New York before. It was far enough out from the Times Square area that there weren't mobs of tourists but also close enough that you could easily walk to the iconic location. It is also the flower district, so getting to wake up to streets lined with fresh flowers every morning was pretty great. My friends and I made an effort to see as many different areas as we could. I took tons of pictures so I'm going to break them up into a few posts, starting with the first couple of days.

We stopped at a cool little bakeshop "Baked by Melissa" which we later discovered can be found all over the city. These little bite size treats are delicious! I was surprised by how moist they were, the little cupcake even has a filling inside. I got a snicker doodle macaroon, a sugar cookie macaroon, and a rainbow crunch cupcake. Perfect for to fulfill your sweet tooth while walking around!!

Swatch! If you watch Project Runway, you will understand that this was a moment

SoHo
SoHo Park

The first day we stopped at a hole in the wall pizza/gyro place which actually was pretty good and then headed over to check out Times Sqaure. It is very busy and full of tourists so I would suggest doing this towards the beginning if you don't want to have to deal with all the people again. The next day we went to SoHo and shopped around. I really liked the area with the cobble stone streets and cool old architectural buildings. We had dinner at SoHo Park and it was perfect! After walking all day you definitely build up an appetite. The setting is also really cute with an outdoor feel indoors and a nice beer garden patio area. Later that night my friend and I went to Rockefeller Center to do "Top of the Rock". This is something that I highly suggest doing. They take you 850 feet up and the view is stunning, it was particularly beautiful at night but I think it would be equally as amazing to do during the day!

Have you been to any of these NYC spots? Xx

Red Nose Day

Hello lovely reader! I hope you are enjoying these last few days of May. As I have often said, sharing is caring, whether I'm referring to a recipe, a recent discovery, or where I got my latest favorites. However this can also be used in the sense of giving back, sharing what you have with those around you and across the world who may be less fortunate. Today is the perfect opportunity to do just that seeing as it is "Red Nose Day"! You may have seen advertisements for this all over, and merchandise for it in places such as Walgreens. I know when I was in New York last week, Times Square had a massive ad for the NBC special. So what is this day and why all the red noses? Well simply put on the official website, it is a time "when people across the land can get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work."

Tonight there is a special on NBC at 9/8c that will feature comedy, music, and entertainment all with the goal of raising money that will go towards making a difference for kids.

The red noses are the symbol of the event and the organization and can be purchased at Walgreens where the proceeds will go to the Red Nose Day Fund. You can also go to this page and make a donation directly! So help make a difference for kids in the USA and across the world and take part in this fun day!

I also want to say that this post is completely unsponsored. Helping children is just one of the causes that I am very passionate about and this day is a great opportunity to do so!

How are you going to participate? Have a lovely day and go "do something funny for money"! Xx
