June Favorites!

Hello lovely reader! Tomorrow is July 1, 2015.....yeah still wondering if June actually happened. Literally, it went by so fast. But one of the great things about the end of the month (or maybe not for some, take it as you please, sometimes its favorites overkill for some) is that people post the things they have been loving for the past 30 or so days! Personally, I am a fan of a good favorites post or video because it can give insight into things you may have not been aware of before or give you the excitement of the fact that maybe you've been loving the same things that someone else has! For my June Favorites post, I decided to do it a bit differently then I have in the past, and I'd love feedback as to how you feel about the layout. I thought it would be a bit easier to see if its laid out more sequentially and categorized (a bit of OCD coming through). I also tried to leave links to some of the products if possible. Have a scroll and I'll share with you what I have been loving for the month of June!

Favorite Face Cleaner (not really sure how to title this one?): Queen Helene Face Mint Julep Scrub

This facial scrub is absolutely fantastic! It has a great amount of grit to it to scrub the excess dirt and dry skin from your face. I have an oily t-zone and I find that this product does a great job of cleaning my face as well as combatting some of the oiliness.

Favorite Go-To Food: Strawberries

If you haven't been able to tell my some of my recent iPhone Snaps posts, I love strawberries! They are my go to snack and are delicious when mixed into vanilla greek yogurt. Also not to bad to top off a waffle with some powdered sugar.

This blog has been my go to when looking for inspiration of things to sew or create! Stylish, chic, and full of ideas!

Favorite Website: POPSUGAR Fitness

I have been on this website so many times this month! From recipe searching to workout sequences, this website is a great one stop shop for all things fitness.

Favorite App/Time Consumer: Tumblr

I love Tumblr! As I've said before, I love to look at it towards the end of the day as a way to wind down and it never ceases to inspire me whether it be a quote or a fashionable look. Follow me here!

Favorite Fashion Piece: Swing Dresses

Ok so my love for swing dresses is quite a thing, sleeveless, shirtsleeve, long sleeve, love them all. I just think they're so great because they are comfortable, they look cute, and they can be dressed up or down.


Favorite Throwback: Back to Black By Amy Winehouse

I had been a fan of Amy Winehouse's music, but I didn't know too much about her. A few weeks ago I watched a documentary about her life and her trials and tribulations. She was so talented and will forever be remembered. After watching the documentary, I had this song on repeat and also began listening to more of her songs that I was unfamiliar with.


Favorite Books: We Were Liars by E. Lockhart & Paper Towns by John Green

I don't want to say too much about either of these, other than if you are looking for some books to read this summer, I highly recommend both of these!!!

Favorite YouTube Channel: Samantha Harvey

I just did a Recent Discovery post all about Samantha Harvey! She is talented and her covers are beautiful.

Guilty Pleasure: Rich Kids of Beverly Hills (TV Show)

So yes, this is my guilty pleasure of the month. It's full of humor, fashion, selfies, and "fabuluxe" people. It makes me laugh every time and the relationship between Dorothy and Morgan, reminds me so much of me and my best friend! "The series focuses on the lives of a group of twenty-something millionaires and billionaires showcasing their lives." I wouldn't mind some of the perks of their lives for sure...motivation!

Hi lovely reader! Today I wanted to make a short post to tell you that I am on Tumblr! I will link my page below and I also have a link in the box to the right just below my Twitter link. I love Tumblr and when people say it can be addicting, they are not exaggerating. If I'm listening to some good music, having a look through the endless scrolling of inspiration, can easily make me loose track of time. I like to use it as something to relax with at the end of the day or to get inspiration for fashion, food, or just life I general.

"10 Things I Will Tell My Daughter" | a beautiful tumblr post

Hello lovely reader! Today's post is a bit different from something I would normally do because most of the content was not written by me, so let me explain. I saw this post on tumblr a couple of weeks ago and thought that it was absolutely beautiful and profound. The title of it was "10 Things I Will Tell My Daughter" Now, whether you are a daughter or a mother, a young girl or an older lady, I think these 10 things are so relatable and almost comforting. I personally do not have kids nor will I anytime soon, but I still do imagine what it will be like if am blessed to become a mother one day. I wonder how different the world will be for them compared to how it is now and such. And as a young lady these thoughts are something to remind myself of for sure. 10 things I will tell my daughter. 

1. Do not date a boy who does not care what your favourite song is. The boy who does not care what melodies ignite your heart strings with love and wonder while staring at passing street lights on the last train home, will not care if it’s 2 a.m. and your heart is breaking.

2. Do not let anyone fold you up like last winters tattered scarf and put you away with the others in a neatly labeled box. Even when there’s thunder and the sky is crying, you are your mum’s favourite summer dress. You are to wear yourself like you believe it.

3. We are all stories. Write yours how you want. Make today’s chapter about purposely taking the wrong bus and discovering a tiny blue tea shop, or folding origami paper hearts over and over on your window sill. Just make sure it’s something you’d enjoy reading.

4. I will always try to save you.

5. Someday you will be 19 and lost and heartbroken and you will think about a place you’ve seen on TV or heard or read about in a book or seen a picture of. You will feel your heart drop into your stomach. Go there. For a day, a month, forever, but it’s important that you go.

6. The world is so beautiful. Do not let the slumped over homeless man outside the convenience store or the stories of guns and bombs on the television let you believe otherwise. We are all so lost. All of us. We all show it in different ways. I write bad poems. Others start wars. There is no inherent evil, only good people searching too hard.

7. I love everything about you.

8. Money turns people into liars and emotional ghosts. School grades are an inaccurate representation of you. Measure your life’s worth in how many times you’ve nearly lost your life to laughter, how many books you’ve closed with happy tears in your eyes, people whose lives you’ve brought joy to, marshmallows eaten, or countries visited.

9. Don’t ever let anyone tell you to stop crying. Cry if you want to. It’s okay. You’re allowed.

10. My best friend once told me that the most important decision he had ever made was to love everyone and everything. He’s the only person I’ve ever known to have a viewable aura of light around him. Don’t forget to love this world, to love people. Be light. You are already mine.

This is why I love the internet. Yes online shopping is great and youtube is entertaining, but the fact that their are so many people out there who are willing to share their inspirational thoughts with the entire world really makes me happy! Xx

Black & White | Tumblr

Hi lovely reader! How are you? As you may know, I love a good scroll through Tumblr! I also have a bit of a fetish for monochromatic pictures. So combine the two and you have this post, a series of black and white photos found on Tumblr. Now go ahead and turn on some relaxed alternative music and have a nice little scroll. Enjoy!

There are always those times when all you want to do is sit in bed or on a couch and scroll through pages and pages of pretty, inspirational, or just plain cute pictures. I've found three tumblr pages that are my go to's for those times.

The first is called "Obervando". Some of the pictures have nice quotes while others just look cool. It's run by a guy called Axel from Argentina. He posts pictures that he has found online as well as his own texts.

The second one is "Salt Water Whispers". All the pictures posted are so beautiful and also good quality! There are also really lovely quotes around the pictures from time to time. I'm not sure what else to say about it other than the pictures are gorgeous!

The final page is called "The Pink Diary". All the pictures she posts are taken with an iPhone 5 so it just goes to show you that an expensive camera is not necessary for nice pictures. The pictures are kind of "ootd's" or "what's in my bag" but different than how you would expect. I love looking at these!
