Sunsets & Sand | Photo Diary

Hello lovely reader! School has begun and I’m kinda sad about it, I can’t believe that August is quickly coming to an end! September is shaping up to be a busy month as well, so I’m sure that is will pass equally, if not faster, than the prior months. Anyway, to go along with the fact that I wish it was still summer, I thought I would share a photo diary with you from an “end of summer” trip that I took to Florida. It was so relaxing and the weather was gorgeous, also perfect to spend time with my family before heading off to school. We had some of the clearest and calmest water that I have seen in a long time and some gorgeous sunsets. The seafood was delicious and we even tried a new restaurant that ended up being one of my favorites (Boshamps). So put your toes in the sand and come along to the beach with me!

What's In My Beach Bag?

Hello lovely reader! How is your Monday treating you? I recently returned from a much needed trip to the beach. It was full of sun, sand, salt water, and other appealing beach nouns that you would find on the front of a Wildfox sweater. So, going along with that theme, I thought I would share with you what I carry in my beach bag when spending a day in the sand.

A floppy hat is a must for me because it easily adds instant "chicness" to your look as well as shade to your face. Throw it on with some large sunglasses and you are set.

Of course you have to have sunglasses! A hard case is great because then you don't have to worry about your favorite sunglasses being crushed by a beach towel or bottle of sunscreen.

Oversized sunglasses = necessity

In this day and age I realize some people might thing this one is a bit "behind the times" seeing as the Go Pro is everywhere but I still love the excitement and mystery of a wind and click. It's a waterproof camera which obviously can be used underwater but I like to take it out into the ocean with me if I'm just floating and take some candid snaps with family and friends.

A cosmetics bag is such a nice thing to have with you, one, it keeps things from getting lost in the bottom of your bag, and two, it's perfect to keep some extra hair ties in, chapsticks, and even ibuprofen. 

Some sort of little pouch or bag to protect your phone from the water and sand. I got this silicon one from H&M last year. Also earbuds or headphones are always in my bag, however if I'm on the beach, I tend to only put one ear in, that way I can take in the sounds of the waves as well, I would encourage you to do the same, don't completely tune yourself out from your surroundings.

Classic staple item, a good book. For my trip this year, I took "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell.

I always make sure to bring some sort of healthy snack, the heat can be draining and hunger mixed with heat is never a good combination.

And finally, hopefully this is an obvious one, sunscreen! Always wear sunscreen, you're skin will thank you for it now and in the future!

Palm Trees & Warm Weather | Throwback Thursday

Hello lovely reader! I hope your Thursday is going well, being productive, tomorrow is Friday, so if not you have that to look forward too! About a month ago I took a nice break from classes and flew to a land of sunshine and palm trees. It was so nice being able to go to the beach, eat fresh seafood, and just be out in the sunshine. I took loads of pictures and wanted to share some with you. So imagine the calming sounds of the ocean and have a little scroll!

"Let's Go to the Beach...Let's Go Get Away" | Photo Diary

Hi lovely reader! Ready for the weekend? A couple of weeks ago I took a trip. It was very nice to take in the sun, sit in the sand, and indulge in the seafood. I also took a lot of pictures and it wouldn't be very blogger proper to not share them with you. So sit back, relax, and come on this trip with me, through the lens.
