Healthy Summer Sweet-Tooth Satisfier | Frozen Yogurt Bars

Hi lovely reader! One of my favorite things to do on a hot summer evening is drive about 5 minutes to my families favorite local ice cream spot. They have every flavor and topping imaginable from fresh strawberries and hot fudge to cinnamon apples and caramel. While this is not something I would ever stop doing completely, there are those days where I still have a craving for something cold and sweet but feel I should probably go for something a little bit more healthy. So this recipe that I am going to share with you is just that! I originally saw it on the back of a box of Honey Maid graham crackers and thought it looked quick, simple, and delicious so I gave it a go.

I was pleased with the end result, as was my family, and it has become my go to for when I get an after dinner hankering for a little dessert. I also like this recipe because it is extremely customizable, you can change the Greek yogurt flavors, the fruits, and add other mix ins such as mini chocolate chips, chocolate sauce, caramel, etc. I made strawberry chocolate chip ones and they were excellent! So follow this simple recipe and you will have some delicious fruity frozen yogurt bars!

You will need:
-1 cup vanilla nonfat Greek yogurt (or whatever flavor you would like them to be)
-1 cup thawed frozen reduced-fact whipped topping
-1/2 cup sliced strawberries
-1/2 cup chopped bananas
-1/4 cup blueberries
-12 whole graham crackers

1. Chop up the fruits into fine pieces, depending on how big you would like the fruit chunks to be. Then spoon the fruit into a bowl and stir in the yogurt and whipped topping.

2. Line a pan of your choosing (for me I used two bread loaf pans) with aluminum foil with the foil ends extending over the sides. Break each graham cracker in half arrange them in the pan. Spoon the yogurt mixture on top of each half and then top it with the other half of the graham crackers. Repeat this until you have used all of your mixture, separating each laver of sandwiches with aluminum foil.

3. Freeze for 4 hours (it's okay to freeze them for longer, just be sure to let them sit out for a bit to thaw out some before serving). Then you are ready to enjoy!

Do you have a summer sweet tradition or a go to treat? Xx

Keep It Simple | OOTD

Hi lovely readers! I hope you had a productive Monday on this August 1st. I definitely crossed some things off my list. For a while I have been wanting to put more into the fashion aspect of this blog because it is something that I love, am studying, and want to share. I've got no more excuses to not put up these posts so stay on the look out because they're coming (I promise they are coming). Today's look has been a go-to of mine for the summer. Anything that can be paired with sneakers, especially these Adidas, and I'm in. I love to put my hair up in a messy ponytail or half-up topknot with some neutral makeup and a pink or berry lip. I'm going to include links below to some different options similar to what I am wearing in a few different price ranges so be sure to check those out as well.

Dress: Exact, Similar Look (ASOS Just Female, ASOS)
Shoes: Exact
Lipstick: MAC (my current favorite pink), NYX (love this for a darker shade)

What has been your go to look this summer? Xx

Style the Icon | Farfetch and Apple Music

Hello lovely reader! Happy Monday! I have some exciting news! As you may know I am a fan of Farfetch and a few days ago I was invited to participate in a competition in celebration of Farfetch's new Apple Music partnership and six current style icons in the music industry. They are the very first brand to blend Apple Music with their website and app and there are two playlists, Songs from the Shoot and Tune Tuesdays.

The style icon I chose for these inspiration boards was Harry Styles but I wanted to take his style and transfer it into women's wear. I know a lot of people have labeled him the heartthrob and yes he is very good looking but he also has shown that he has a very keen eye when it comes to fashion. His style is one that has evolved over the past six years. He is quite fashion forward and a risk taker, with skinny jeans and printed tops being a staple, and you can't forget the chelsea boots! His high fashion picks are ones to watch.

Which pieces are your favorite? Who of these six style icons fashion choices would you take inspiration from? Xx

Last Minute Fourth of July Outfit Ideas

Hello lovely reader! Happy Fourth of July Weekend to those of you that celebrate! Now of course tomorrow's main focus shouldn't be on what we're all wearing it should be about celebrating the birth of the USA and spending time with friends and family and also taking time to thank or reflect on all that those who serve our nation do. But like I said, the day is supposed to be a celebration and who doesn't love dressing for an occasion? For many people it seems they get all caught up in planning "the best BBQ" or "family fireworks spectacular" that July 3rd comes around and they look up and realize that they hadn't even thought about what to wear and no longer have time to run to the shops and purchase an entire outfit. I kept that in mind when creating these five looks, sticking to some basic staples that most people would have in their closet. I personally think that denim is a great "American staple" to rock on the fourth and the bandana trends go quite nicely with the Americana vibes of the day. So checks these looks out and if you would like to know specifics of any of the pieces, just let me know in the comments or tweet me @NEPlainJane.

If you're wanting a more subtle way to conquer the red, white, and blue, taking something simple like this denim swing dress and adding the red bandana around the neck or even as a headband is a great way to stay true to what your trendy style may be as well as have a "special outfit" for the day.
I love a good pair of overalls and what can be more USA chic than this, also takes care of tops and bottoms for an outfit (quick solution = win)! Choose a red, white, or blue tee underneath, throw on some cool sneakers or sandals some fun shades and you are ready to go.
The ultimate staple that everyone has, jean shorts and a white tee shirt, pair them with some fun beads or again a bandana and this classic becomes ready for some fireworks and fun.
Stripes have been quite popular this year but if you ask me they seem to come back every year. This outfit is great if you're looking for a bit more of a nicer look. I also think that just because it's Fourth of July, doesn't mean your outfit has to contain all three patriotic colors, to me two out of three is acceptable. But this look would look great finished off with a red lip!
But of course if you are wanting to go all out, this is the day to bust out that obnoxiously loud American Flag shirt, or swim trunks, or shorts or whatever you may have. This day's meant to be fun and your outfit could be just as loud as those fireworks!

What are you planning to wear tomorrow? Xx

Best Dressed Wedding Guest | Summer Weddings with Farfetch

Hi lovely reader! I hope the summer is treating you well so far. Now, Saturday's in the summer can entail many different things, a lazy day by the pool, a BBQ with friends and family, or for many a wedding to attend! Last weekend I attended a quaint little wedding and I know some people spend what seems like their whole summers traveling around and attending different ceremonies. But, who doesn't love an excuse to get dressed up, have some fun with hair and makeup, take fantastic pictures and dance the night away? Something that I know people struggle with, especially if they have multiple weddings to attend is splurging on an outfit that they are only going to wear for one day. Well, lucky for us, Farfetch has put together an edit full of outfits to wear whilst watching the big "I Do's". As I have mentioned before, I am a big fan of this site, and this edit that I am able to share with you, is all about being the best dressed guest at a wedding. Whether it's a "Black Tie Affair" or a "Countryside Soiree" they have created some fabulous looks. When I saw these outfits, I immediately thought about how versatile all the pieces included are. I know it sounds cliche, but these are things you can actually wear again. I am obsessed with the Aquazzura espadrilles in the "Life's a Beach" section and they would go perfect with a simple t-shirt dress or jeans and a blouse. The Gianvuto Rossi flats featured in the picture below and in the "Countryside Coupling" are also amazing, I love the bow detail on the ankle. They could be worn year round with pretty much anything, I'm thinking a LBD or a midi skirt! So have a look and get some inspiration!

Now that you've seen these lovely looks head on over the Farfetch to learn more!

Are you attending any weddings this summer? Which pieces are your favorite? Xx
