Today I wanted to share some of my favorite gifts that I received for Christmas with you! I have done these posts in the past and always feel the need to say that this is in no way a "showing off" write up nor is it written with any intent to be flashy. These are some of my favorite posts to read from other people and I enjoy putting them together as well. I love to share things that I like with others so that you might enjoy them too. So that is where I am coming from when I personally put my posts together! I will try to include as many links as possible to the pieces that are still available (they are not affiliated links with me either, aka I am not getting paid if you buy any of them). Enjoy!

"Not the Gumdrop Buttons!" | Gingerbread Cookie Recipe

Hi lovely readers! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Are you ready? I know I am. I love all the personal traditions that these next few days will bring and look forward to them every year. One of those traditions is to bake gingerbread cookies! I started at about 10 and have been mixing, baking, and icing since then.

The recipe is simple and the cookies delicious. They are great to set out for Santa, put at guest's places at the table at your holiday party or put them in a cute little tin and give them as a gift!

You will need:
2/3 cup shortening
1-1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons buttermilk
2 tablespoons molasses
3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Icing (of your choice)
Candy to decorate (M&M's, chocolate chips)
(This recipe makes about 24 cookies)

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Then add the eggs, one at a time, and beat well after each addition. Beat in the buttermilk and molasses.

Now in a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients and mix them.

Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture.

Mix well. Then set the dough aside in the fridge to chill for several hours. I would suggest using wax paper and putting some flour on it before transferring your dough to chill, to prevent the dough from sticking.

After the dough has chilled you are ready to start cutting out shapes and baking! Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. For rolling out the dough, I usually make mine about 1/8 of an inch. This again is really up to you, just be sure not to make them to thin because it make them harder to transfer to the pan. Another tip is to dip the cookie cutters in flour before cutting out the shapes, again, prevents sticking. Bake the cookies on cookies sheets for 8-10 minutes or until the edges start to brown.

Place the cookies on wire racks and allow them to cool completely before decorating. Then decorate!

Perfect little gift or keep them all for yourself! Do you have other favorite holiday cookie recipes? Xx

Christmastime Goals | Happy December

Hi lovely readers! The holiday season is officially here and I hope your first few days of December have been good. I have been quite busy lately as I'm sure many of you University students can relate to as well, with the semester wrapping up! Winter break cannot come soon enough as I am ready to relax and enjoy this lovely season. I am definitely one of those people who gets a great deal of satisfaction from making lists and then crossing things off, so when this time of year comes around and there are tons of things that I want to do, I sit down and write them all out. I love reading and hearing what other people are planning on doing to be festive and it usually inspires me to add to my own list. I thought it would be fun to share my "Christmastime Goals" with you all and I would love to hear what yours are too! I also plan to have some posts centered around these "events", so stay tuned!
Do we have any of the same goals? Any suggestions of other fun and festive things I should do?

Celebrating the Champagne Season With Farfetch | Blogmas 2015

Hi lovely reader! Only four more days 'til Christmas!! That is both exciting and terrifying for me to say because I still feel like there is so much to be done! My family is hosting the Christmas party this year, so all the preparations are starting to take place. From baking, and cooking, to decorating, and of course deciding what to wear! Getting to dress up for holiday parties is one of my favorite things about this time of year. I love going through all the designer look books and getting inspiration for what type of look I want to go for. So, in the spirit of the holiday party season, I wanted to share a piece with you that features some gorgeous designer pieces in the frilliest and prettiest pinks and blacks, perfect for a holiday soiree. This "Champagne Season" editorial below, was created by a company called farfetch, which if you have never heard of them and are into fashion, designer names, unique pieces, and fantastic sales, you must visit their website! (You will not regret it....well your bank account might, but hey it's the holidays) Even just go have a look at some of their other edits, because as you can see here, they are stunning! Cute Holiday Adverts | Blogmas 2015

Hi lovely reader! Happy Blogmas Day 5! Today's post is all about holiday commercials (or adverts). When christmastime rolls around, you can expect that some companies are going to roll out all the stops to make some heart warming, festive, and funny advertisements to catch viewer's eyes. I could be wrong, but I feel like here in America they're are not as big of a tradition as they are in the UK (at least from what I have seen, but I wish they were). However, thanks to the power of the internet, it's possible to see adverts from all over the world. So, I thought I would share four of my favorites with you lovely lot.

What is your favorite Christmas commercial that you've seen this year? Xx

10 Things I Want To Do In December... | Blogmas 2015

Hi lovely reader! "It's the most wonderful time of the year",

Happy December! The other day I visited my cousin and her house was in full Christmas mode, with a spruce tree scented candle burning, the tree up and sparkling, holiday decor everywhere you looked, and christmas music playing. It was perfect! I then came back to my apartment this weekend to find an adorable little christmas tree set up, the couch staged with holiday pillows, and the aroma of a holiday candle burning. It truly makes me so happy. This is without a doubt my favorite time of the year and am beyond excited for Christmas. I plan on doing all things festive throughout the month and thought I would make a list of the things I want to do!

1. Make a holiday playlist on Spotify and listen to it while driving home

2. Bake gingerbread cookies

3. Decorate a gingerbread house

4. Decorate my house with my family while a fire burns and Christmas music plays in the background

5. Make paper snowflakes

6. Go ice-skating

7. Drive around and look at Christmas lights

8. Make homemade hot chocolate

9. Watch Christmas movies (most importantly Elf)

10. Spend time with family and friends

Bonus: Participate in Blogmas as much as possible
(I did blogmas last year (Blogmas 2014), and loved it, I especially love going back now and looking at all the posts from it. I also know that I will probably be getting quite busy, so I may not be able to post everyday of December up until the 25 but I am going to try my hardest!)

What do you want to do this December? Xx

What I Got For Christmas 2014

Hi lovely reader! Well another Christmas has come and gone. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a bit sad. Christmas was great this year, everyone was healthy, (unlike last year) and everything went smoothly! Every year I do love this time simply because I am nosy and like to see what other people got, maybe you are the same, hopefully you are if you are reading this post. I enjoy seeing what people liked and maybe even discovering new things. Now I feel that it is only right to give a little disclaimer, I am in no way, shape, or form bragging! Everyone has a different Christmas and it shouldn't be about comparing them, your Christmas should be your PERSONAL Christmas and that's that. Also, the main focus of Christmas should not be the gifts. So with that said I will share a bit of my Christmas morning with you!

One of the first presents that I opened were these super soft and cozy Betsey Johnson Pajamas. I love them because they're quite classic looking but then have fun details like the bow on the pocket and the sparkle heart buttons.

Next are these Hunter Boot Socks. I have the black matte Wellington's or Rain Boots so I think the cable knit grey will got perfect. Even though they are rain boots they can be worn in the snow, so the socks will add some extra insulation.

These cute little macaroon socks were a gift from my best friend. We both are a bit obsessed with macaroons, too sweet.

Before I get into the makeup items that I received I would like to take a moment to just say how spot on Sephora's packaging was this year! I received two gifts in these adorable gift boxes with magnetic lids and am in love with the fave that they are reusable. Will definitely be using them to get organized in the new year!

One of my other good friends gave me this cute little holiday nail polish set. I love the shades and variety that the pack includes!

My best friend also gave me this nail polish set by The X Look. The colors are gorgeous and the shade names are Temptation, Impassioned, Red Obsessed, and Thrilling. Also really liked the packaging!

This insane gift set is from Sephora. As soon as I saw it in the October or November add (can't remember which)  I called my mom and told her about what a great deal it was and how I really liked it. I said that she didn't have to get me it but if she was able to not to tell me so that I would be surprised for Christmas because I would probably forget about it. Well, I did forget about it was very happy to open this Christmas morning! It is such an unbelievable deal. The only items that are not full sized is the lipstick and mascara. The Nars blush alone is enough to make me swoon but everything in the set is so nice. If they are still available I highly recommend getting it!

Also a sweet little gift from my bestie. She thought I would enjoy the vintage style packaging which I do. I had seen Becca Rose on YouTube talk about this line before and always wanted to try it. It smells amazing (like roses) and is a nice moisturizer.

I have stated before that I am a fan of the earmuff trend so I was overjoyed to receive these gorgeous earmuff earrings from my cousin.

A nice staple piece, this black Fossil wristlet was much needed! I had been carried one around that was cheaply made and had a zipper that did not work. It is a nice size and has a spot for your phone as well as money and cards.

Now this may seem a bit random, it is a dry brush. A while back I had been reading about dry brushing and how it can be beneficial so I had wanted to give it a go. My mom listened and so I got a dry brush!

Finally my bestie gave me this journal/book. I personally love things like this and enjoy being able to look back and remember things. Each page is different and you fill out a page a day for a year. I will be starting it this week and am quite excited!

So thus concludes another great Christmas! I am extremely blessed and grateful for all the people and things in my life. I am also extremely grateful and thankful for all you lovely readers, you continue to grow in number and I cannot tell you how excited and happy that makes me. So thank you for taking the time to read what I have to say and look at my pictures, it truly means a lot to me. I am amazed with how well the blog is doing and can't imagine what the next year could bring!

What did you get for Christmas? Xx
