July Beauty Favorites

Hi lovely reader! The time has come yet again where a month is now over and a new one is about to begin. (yes that rhymed) As a whole my July went pretty well and I hope yours did too. I have been loving some beauty products this month and thought it would be rude of me to not share them with you on this wonderful platform.

So starting with "face makeup", I have two products that I have been using this month and am very pleased with. The first one is the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. For me this foundation has just the right amount of coverage and does not appear cakey on my skin. It requires very little, aka a little goes a long way, so if you do try it only put on a dab to start. The next product is also by Rimmel and is the Wake Me Up Concealer. Now, if you follow me on Twitter you will know I was quite excited about this product once I decided to give it a go. I love it! The coverage is fantastic.

Onto this luscious mascara. It's by CoverGirl and is the Bombshell Curvaceous by Lashblast Mascara, with a name like that it's got a lot to live up to! Well I'm here to tell you that it does. As you can see it has two ends, the first one is for lengthening and the second one is to give volume. I'm really happy with how it works because it makes my lashes look like false ones. Seriously, the first time I wore it I kept turning my head to the side to see the profile of my lashes. Love!

Now for some hair related items. The first is the Batiste Dry Shampoo in the scent "floral & flirty blush". I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is my go to dry shampoo. It gives texture and volume and smells amazing. If you like to rock those day two curls but need a bit of a pick me up towards the roots, this will do the trick.

The hair accessory that was my go to this month were scrunchies! I love to wear them with a half up half down look or a curled ponytail. They come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and prints.

Finally there are two nail polishes that I have been loving this month. The first is by Revlon and is the shade "Oh My Magenta". I really like this color because it has a shine to it. It covers easily, two coats and you're done. The next shade is quite different from the first but that's the fun of polish right? You can do whatever you want. It is by Essie and the shade is called "For the Twill of It". I just think this color is so cool! It's an iridescent gray and when you paint it on your nails they look metallic. Depending on the light you are in you will see different shades of colors. Again it covers easily in two coats.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments what beauty products you loved this month! Xx

"These are a few of my favorite things" | Favorites Tag

Hello lovely reader! As mentioned in previous "Tag Posts" I really do enjoy these questionnaire-esque journeys. As you can see from the title, this tag is all about favorites. This post could have involved me sitting around with seven children during a thunderstorm, but unfortunately I am not Julie Andrews. (heres the link if you now have the need to listen to that song or if you have no clue what I am referring to) So as Maria says, "These are a few of my favorite things!"

Favorite pet I ever had: Rosie, she's a Cairn Terrier (picture Toto from the Wizard of Oz, but a cream color)
Favorite car I’ve owned: Jeep
Favorite meal out, ever: Now this needs to be more specific, are we talking fine dining or burgers and fries. I once was in Chicago and went to a place called "Harry Caray's" where I had the best burger in the entire world! I also really liked a line of restaurants in West Palm Beach called Carmine's, the food is insanely good.
Favorite food I’ve cooked: I once made a Meatball-Tortellini soup that I was quite proud of because to me it required "legitimate cooking", I made the meatballs, chopped the parsley, and diced some vegetables. It tasted great and was a complete success.
Favorite food from childhood: My mom tells me that when I was younger I used to eat hot dogs a lot which probably explains why I'm not the biggest fan of them now. Chicken fingers were also a favorite.
Favorite movie of all time: Now this is not possible, I had a question like this in the last tag that I did. I have many but today let's go with the ever quotable "Mean Girls".
Favorite book of all time: Again a ridiculous question because I have so many. I adore "Audrey Hepburn, An Elegant Spirit" and I really love "The Fault In Our Stars". But then I like "#GIRLBOSS" too, so it's impossible to choose one.
Favorite item category to go shopping for with a girlfriend: clothes or makeup
Favorite day out – what, where, with whom: Going to Chicago once with my Mom was fun, we explored the city went shopping and ate at a cute little diner.
Favorite color: pastels (yes I'm aware that's a shade not a color), light pink or purple
Favorite artist: if we're talking singers, not possible to choose and if we're talking art artists than maybe Andy Warhol, if I'm honest I don't know much about artists but I did a report on Mr. Warhol once and really liked some of his pieces, he was also cool, so there's that.
Favorite song: Nope can't pick, my "let's get pumped up" or "get in a good mood" song at the moment is "Rather Be"
Favorite paid entertainment: Bruno Mars concert, nuff said
Favorite hobby activity that makes me get lost for hours: Blogging!
Favorite skill (past or current): my ability to visualize things, I'm also pretty good at golf, I can read people pretty well too (whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on the situation)
Favorite advice I’ve ever been given: "Successful people do the things that unsuccessful people don't" -My Dad
Favorite advice I’ve ever given: Be yourself, trust yourself, and do what makes you happy
Favorite year of the best birthday I ever had… and why: Let's see, my 8th birthday was pretty good, my friends and I went to this place where we got to dress up and had our hair and makeup done, we thought we were "the stuff"
Favorite natural wonder I’ve ever seen: The ocean, its pretty amazing to just look at and reflect on
Favorite close call I’ve ever had: Can't really say I've had too many "close calls", sorry I'm not that rock & roll, yet
My favorite flower – purchased: a set of roses that were the most beautiful shade or mute purple/pink I've ever seen
My favorite flower or plant – personally grown: I can't remember what they were called but they were purple and kind of fuzzy, I'm not much of a gardener
My favorite hair day ever? One year for prom I had my hair curled and I still look back at the pictures and wonder if I'll ever be able to master the flawlessness that my hair had that day
The most favorite gift I’ve ever gotten – what and from whom? A children's Juicy Couture purse, my parents gave it to me when I was like 13 and that was when I was starting to become more heavily interested in fashion, I thought it was the nicest thing ever and was so excited!
Favorite outdoor smell: flowers
Favorite Saturday night ever? This isn't specific because it has happened many times, but watching movies, playing Just Dance and singing random songs with friends is always a good time
My favorite non-relative adult growing up: Audrey Hepburn everyone else I looked up to weren't adults
Favorite TV rerun I could watch 50 times? Music specials on artists that I like
Favorite item no one knows I own? This blog?
Favorite competent activity I do? For the most part, artistic or diy projects, sketching too, and baking
Favorite food item I can never run out of? Cheese or eggs, mainly basic stuff because it's necessary to make most dishes! I also always like to have some type of treat for the times when the sweet tooth strikes!
The favorite picture I’ve ever taken? I like the pictures that I've taken when I'm on trips. I'm quite pleased with the ones in my photo diary that I shared with you last month. I also like the less "professional" ones too though that are on my Camera Roll on my phone just because they're full of memories.
Favorite secret I still safeguard? (don’t reveal it!) Well then what is the point of this question?

That was a lot more intense than I thought it would be! I hope you enjoyed it and if you give this tag a go feel free to leave a link in the comments! Xx

"10 Things I Will Tell My Daughter" | a beautiful tumblr post

Hello lovely reader! Today's post is a bit different from something I would normally do because most of the content was not written by me, so let me explain. I saw this post on tumblr a couple of weeks ago and thought that it was absolutely beautiful and profound. The title of it was "10 Things I Will Tell My Daughter" Now, whether you are a daughter or a mother, a young girl or an older lady, I think these 10 things are so relatable and almost comforting. I personally do not have kids nor will I anytime soon, but I still do imagine what it will be like if am blessed to become a mother one day. I wonder how different the world will be for them compared to how it is now and such. And as a young lady these thoughts are something to remind myself of for sure. I will leave the link to her tumblr below so be sure to check out the source of these lovely thoughts.
10 things I will tell my daughter.
1. Do not date a boy who does not care what your favourite song is. The boy who does not care what melodies ignite your heart strings with love and wonder while staring at passing street lights on the last train home, will not care if it’s 2 a.m. and your heart is breaking.
2. Do not let anyone fold you up like last winters tattered scarf and put you away with the others in a neatly labeled box. Even when there’s thunder and the sky is crying, you are your mum’s favourite summer dress. You are to wear yourself like you believe it.
3. We are all stories. Write yours how you want. Make today’s chapter about purposely taking the wrong bus and discovering a tiny blue tea shop, or folding origami paper hearts over and over on your window sill. Just make sure it’s something you’d enjoy reading.
4. I will always try to save you.
5. Someday you will be 19 and lost and heartbroken and you will think about a place you’ve seen on TV or heard or read about in a book or seen a picture of. You will feel your heart drop into your stomach. Go there. For a day, a month, forever, but it’s important that you go.
6. The world is so beautiful. Do not let the slumped over homeless man outside the convenience store or the stories of guns and bombs on the television let you believe otherwise. We are all so lost. All of us. We all show it in different ways. I write bad poems. Others start wars. There is no inherent evil, only good people searching too hard.
7. I love everything about you.
8. Money turns people into liars and emotional ghosts. School grades are an inaccurate representation of you. Measure your life’s worth in how many times you’ve nearly lost your life to laughter, how many books you’ve closed with happy tears in your eyes, people whose lives you’ve brought joy to, marshmallows eaten, or countries visited.
9. Don’t ever let anyone tell you to stop crying. Cry if you want to. It’s okay. You’re allowed.
10. My best friend once told me that the most important decision he had ever made was to love everyone and everything. He’s the only person I’ve ever known to have a viewable aura of light around him. Don’t forget to love this world, to love people. Be light. You are already mine.

This is why I love the internet. Yes online shopping is great and youtube is entertaining, but the fact that their are so many people out there who are willing to share their inspirational thoughts with the entire world really makes me happy! Xx

Online Shopping Haul

Hi lovely reader! I hope your Sunday is going swell! I've been doing a bit of online shopping so it's time for another haul.

I ordered these shoes online from a place called DSW. I've been looking for a pair of sandals like this after seeing the style all over blogs and tumblr. I found these and I couldn't be more pleased! They're so comfortable and I love the fact that they're black and white.

The only non online item, but I had to include them) I picked up this pair of earrings in a really cute vintage shop. As you can see, they're little gold metal triangles. Modern and delicate, love!

Continuing with the delicate jewelry, I absolutely adore this necklace. It's by Sydney Evan and says "believe" which can be applied to so many things in life. Inspirational and so so pretty.

Onto this fabulous bag! I ordered it from ASOS but it is by New Look. A backpack purse is something I've been on the lookout for because they're great for traveling and again on trend. They're probably better for your shoulders too, if your purse weighs as much as mine does. I chose this one because the price was unbeatable and I really liked the details, the zippered side pockets and the woven-esque top and sides. The quality is great too, I always worry when purchases faux leather bags online because you never really know what you're going to get.

This next item is a bit random but none the less I wanted to share it with you. It is a Fleece Blanket from the H&M home collection. It's super soft and I love the vintage touch.

Last but certainly not least...I got a MacBook Pro! Now I have never owned a Mac in my life so I am definitely learning (if you know any cool Mac shortcuts or tips please let me know in the comments). So far I am loving it though.

I hope you enjoyed this haul! If you have any questions or comments about these products please let me know. If you've done a recent haul feel free the link it as well, I'd love to read it! Xx

14 RANDOM QUESTION TAG: GET TO KNOW ME!

Hey lovely reader! As you can see today's post is a fun tag, full of random questions. I originally saw the tag on Queen of Jet Lags so be sure to check hers out too!

1. If you could change your name to anything, what would it be and why?

This is an interesting question. I can honestly say I'm quite happy with my name. Fun Fact: I was almost named Nicole. My two favorite names though are Audrey and Eleanor.

2. If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be and why?

That things will work out and to trust your gut. Also don't be afraid to be yourself. Basically everything mentioned in "Little Me", those lyrics are perfect for a question like this.

3. What did you want to be when you were little?

An actress, a singer, a model, a fashion designer...many things!

4. What do you order at Starbucks?

Nothing...gasp...sorry I'm not obsessed with Starbucks. I do like their hot chocolate during the wintertime, other than that I just drink water.

5. What’s the hardest you ever laughed?

This question definitely causes reminiscing. Two of my best friends always make me laugh, but the things we laugh about probably wouldn't sound funny to anyone else and some of the stories aren't things they'd want me sharing on the internet I'm sure:) My dad is also good for a laugh.

6. If you could play any instrument, which would it be and why?

Guitar! I used to play the flute but I love the acoustic guitar. I think it can show so many different feelings based on how it's played, whether it's a soft tune or a fast strum. I also wish I could play because then you could take it with you anywhere and just chill and have a little sing-song.

7. What’s your favorite thing to do when your upset?

Listen to music or watch some of my favorited videos on Youtube.

8. What’s your favorite movie?

Depends on the genre. My favorite classic would have to be "Funny Face" starring Audrey Hepburn. I love the Harry Potter series too. Great Gatsby is probably the best movie I've seen lately. I also love concert DVDs.

9. What’s one food you can not live without?

Ok this one is hard because I am a foodie for sure. If we're being general maybe cheese because it's in a lot of my favorite dishes.

10. What’s your favorite dessert?

Triple Chocolate cake made by my mom! Chocolate cake with chocolate chips in it and chocolate frosting, it melts in your mouth!

11. Favorite pizza topping?

Wow tough question! I love many types of pizzas, margarita, deluxe, sicilian, mediterranean, the list goes on. So for today let's say, sun dried tomatoes.

12. Would you rather have the superpower to read minds, or the superpower to be invisible?

As much as I'd want to know what people are thinking it's probably better for everyone to not. So let's go with being invisible.

13. What did you do for your last birthday?

I had lunch and went shopping with my bestie.

14. If you had one personal “selfish” wish, what would it be and why?

To be extremely successful and as cheesy as it sounds, live the life I dream about.

If you do this tag I'd love to read it, so feel free to leave a link in the comments! Xx
